Oh man I'll admit that this place took me by surprise in the best way possible! My friends and I were in town and were looking for a solid place to eat when we came across this spot through Yelp. Damn, that was good! This was one of the Top 30 meals of my life. Most definitely memorable. In fact, I usually eat super fast, but in this case, I ate slowly and savored each bite. Food is great. I ordered rack of lamb and added scallops with sides of asparagus and brussel sprouts. The lamb was tender and tasty- cooked perfectly. I was surprised to find well cooked & fresh scallops in El Paso- not expecting that since they're inland. The scallops came with a bed of rice and topped with jalapeño. When I saw tavern I was expecting something rustic but what I got was elegance. Roberto was our server and he was very nice and efficient. Sat in a booth and the seats were very plush. Decor was modern with crisp lines and art work that paid homage to old El Paso. Very classy. Food was excellent. I had the chicken sandwich and it was well prepared with a really tasty light sauce. Fries were great. Perfect size for lunch. Very reasonable cost. Definitely stop here for a great experience.
